Choosing the Right Size for a Waste Container

How do I determine the right size of waste container?

The choice depends on the size of your project. Here are some guidelines:

10 cubic yards: Ideal for small projects, such as renovating a small bathroom or cleaning out a garage. Includes about 1 tonne.

15 cubic yards: Suitable for medium-sized projects, such as renovating a kitchen or two standard rooms. Includes about 1.5 tonnes.

20 cubic yards: Perfect for larger renovations (e.g., an entire floor) or replacing flooring in a house (up to 2,000 sq. ft.). Includes about 2.5 tonnes.

25 cubic yards: For very large renovation projects or major post-disaster cleanups. Includes about 3 tonnes.

For each size, additional fees of $125 per extra tonne apply.

Booking and Delivery

How far in advance should I place my order?
You can order up to 24 hours in advance, depending on availability. However, we recommend booking your rental a few days to ensure the desired date and container size.
What should I prepare for the delivery of the container or mobile storage unit?
Simply ensure there is enough accessible space for our truck to safely drop off the unit. You must adhere to the list of accepted/prohibited materials for waste containers. Your presence isn’t required during delivery or pickup—we handle everything!
Can a container damage my driveway?
No. When delivering any container or mobile storage unit, we always place wooden planks (2x6) underneath the unit to prevent direct contact and friction with your driveway (asphalt, pavers, etc.).
What areas and cities do you serve?
We primarily serve the greater Outaouais region, including Gatineau and its sectors (Aylmer, Hull, Buckingham), Cantley, Val-des-Monts, Chelsea, L'Ange-Gardien, La Pêche, Papineauville, and several other surrounding municipalities. Contact us to see if we can serve your specific area in Gatineau.
Can I place a container on the street?
Regulations vary by municipality. It is your responsibility to check with your city to see if a permit is required and what the conditions are for placing a container on public property. Location CMS cannot be held responsible for obtaining permits.

Mobile Storage Unit

What are the dimensions of the mobile storage unit?
Our standard mobile storage unit measures 16 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 7 feet high.
What are the fees for the mobile storage unit?
The rental starts at $250/month. Initial fees apply for delivery and the first month. Round-trip transport is included within the Gatineau region (approximately 20 km from Cantley). Fees apply for moving the unit once loaded or for longer distances. Contact us for an accurate quote.

Use and Pickup

Will my waste be recycled?
Yes, eco-friendly waste management is a priority for us. When we pick up your waste container, its contents are taken to certified sorting centers, where materials are properly sorted and processed.
How long can I keep the waste container?
The standard rental duration is flexible. Contact us to discuss options (typically from a few days to a week or more, depending on your needs). Additional fees may apply for extended rentals. For mobile storage units, the rental is generally monthly.
Are there weight restrictions for waste containers?
Yes, each container size has an included weight limit (see the "Choosing the Right Size" section). Exceeding this limit will incur additional charges per tonne (currently $125/extra tonne). It is important not to overload the container, especially with dense materials.
